The attempt at a Christmas card...

***For anyone reading this a second time...Matthew made me delete a picture of David and replace it with another one because it was not "cute." Ha****


I found out on Wednesday that I have to have my tonsils taken out. They are doing the surgery (the only time I could do it until after next May), on the 2nd and the doc said I would be "down" for 15 DAYS!! Not looking forward to it, esp. with a 5 month old scooting around. Mom and Debbie (my sweet mother in law) are going to be here to help me out... thankfully! I did not realize what a "wonderful" time it was to do this! I will be missing out on SO much those two weeks. Two baby showers, Athenians ball, my brothers bday, Christmas bunko, "girls night," and three Christmas parties!!! Boo hoo!

Because of this, I started freaking out about Christmas. I LOVE Christmas!!!! I am "that girl" that clicks on Mix 103.3 (here's a shout out to Aunt Diane), on Thanksgiving Day and listens to "holiday" (i hate that word) music until it ends on the 26th of December. I listen to it all day long. I also LOVE the HOLIDAY music channel on Charter!! Matthew thinks I have issues, but I just love Christmas.




So, off my rant on music... I started thinking... If I am going to be out for about 15 days, that is Dec. 2- Dec. 17!!! That would leave me ONE week to get stuff ready for my favorite holiday of the year! Not gonna happen. So, me, who STILL has a million thank you notes to write, has put herself in Christmas gear. I have already warned Matthew that the day or so after Thanksgiving we, excuse me, I will have our house "Christmas ready!"



I took the opportunity today, to wake up and get started on a Christmas card picture. Not the easy task that it used to be. I, first, had to wet David's, what little he has, hair down to get rid of the mohawk his daddy has taken the pleasure of creating every night after bathtime. Then I went through the closets to ramble up any kind of item I could possibly use for a Christmas picture. Next I got on the phone with the person I call ALL THE TIME for advice, my mom, to see where I should go for the "taking." Finally, I got myself dressed, David fed and dressed and headed out the door to my mom's house.



I got there and the little buddy was ready to eat again. So, at 1:30 I feed him and stuck him in front of Praise Baby while I walked around the inside and outside of the house to find some potential spots. While walking around I realized I had forgotten the MAIN item of the day... the Santa hat!! What was I thinking?!? I hopped in the car, (yes, I left David watching Praise Baby... but the maid was there... that's okay, right??), drove across town, ran in my house and headed back. That "quick" little trip took, no lie, 46 minutes!!!! Insane...well, I got my gear and had mom get David ready and headed out with the camera. It was a LONG afternoon. Taking pictures was SO much easier when he didn't do anything but lay there and suck on his paci. So much for that!! The little boy who will not roll over for the life of me decides that is ALL he wants to do today... in EVERY place I put him! What is up with that?



I have to say... I did get a few good shots that I think I may be able to use. I have some of the pictures throughout this blog, but don't worry, the Christams card potentials are NOT on here. I wouldn't dare give that away! The day was so crazy, that on the way home, David fell asleep in the car. Matthew and I cooked dinner and FINALLY at 7:15 David woke up. He was SO fussy and I couldn't figure out why. I fed him sweet potatoes and english peas, which he scarfed down, but he was still so fussy. I couldn't figure out why. Then, I look at the clock, see that it is 7:30, look at Matthew with this face only he knows. And he says... "What?" Well, I had forgotten to feed him this afternoon!!! The last time he had eaten was at 1:30!! What a terrible mom. Oh, well,... he's fed, asleep and happy now, right?

Wow... we are 5 months today!

I cannot believe how fast time is flying. My little baby is becoming a little boy. I can see the change every single day. As with everything there are a bunch of different emotions to go along with this. I love the baby David and all his cuddling, I love the little boy David with his talking, interaction, laughter,etc. It is so fun, but so scary at the same time. Every day flies by too fast. Within the last month he has already accomplished many milestones in a "a baby's life." He discovered his fingers, his toes, started rolling on both sides, he slams his feet into the ground (you'd think he would have bruised heels), he picks things up and holds them and puts them back down, he started cereal, moved to oatmeal and know is loving squash and sweet potatoes... and truly the list goes on. One thing that he does is hilarious to me. I have always, since he was born, made this noise with my mouth...about two weeks ago he started copying me. It is so funny. I think on one of my videos he is doing it. If not, I will try to post one. He does it ALL the time now. He even wakes up doing it! I started thinking, if he can already figure out what I am doing and copy it, I wonder what else he can catch on to? I bet alot!

Can I just tell you what a wonderful sleeper I have? I know I have mentioned this before, but I feel like I must brag on him. He is still sleeping until 7:45 or 8!! He goes to bed around 8:30 or 9... it is so nice to be able to get things done, or (don't tell Matthew), sleep in until 8! Here are a few pictures and video of dear ole David!


This is a video of David eating squash for the second time... he loves it! We started with squash and then moved to sweet potatoes. He likes and eats both, but loves the squash the most! Surprising!


We also had Halloween... we had the cutest Tigger on the block. The poor kid was in his costume from 1 p.m. until 8!!! But he was a trooper... we went to both grandmother's houses, his aunt Meredith and Uncle Travis', his aunt Alexia and uncle Michael's, his aunt Alex and uncle Colin's, and Big and Gainie's house. Whew! Long day... here a few pictures.

Well, the Coblentz's do things a little out of order. We finished Halloween and haven't even had Thanksgiving yet, but dear ole Santa came a little early this year. An elf told Santa that David was into grabbing things and needed a little more excitement than Praise Baby tapes. On a Tuesday afternoon, Santa dropped off a rather exciting exersaucer (or spaceship as Colin calls it) for David!! Yeah... who could not like Christmas to come a little early?? He wasn't quite sure what was going on...

What David has been doing...

He has learned to grab and hold things...It is so funny, he started about three weeks ago grabbing at this paci. He will pull it out and then put it back in, but he can't figure out how to let go of it. So, when he pulls his hand away, his paci comes back out and he gets so frustrated with himself. It's pretty funny. When I noticed him doing that I decided to test him and see if he could reach out and grab something and hold it in his hand... well he did! I did have a picture of it, but it deleted off my camera :( He has also started laughing ALL the time. I know I posted before videos of him laughing, but he seriously laughs non-stop. It is so funny.


He also learned to pose for mommy. I decided to take a lame attempt at taking pictures of David that were "posed." Well, here are a few shots of how it went.



He actually went to his first Auburn game! Those pictures are on Matthew's camera and I can't find his USB plug, but as soon as I do, I will post them. He learned to love watching Auburn football (good or TERRIBLE!)...



He celebrated my 27th birthday on October 4...

The Highlands

Last week Matthew, David and I set out on an adventure that only God knew how it would go. We decided to take our almost 4 month old on a five hour drive to the Highlands. With a 4 month old, you never know how things will turn out. Will the five hour drive take ten hours, will he scream the whole way, will he sleep, will he stay on schedule, will we be able to relax, etc.?


Well.... guess what!?!? He did WONDERFUL!!! I was so proud of my little man. We decided to leave at 6:30 on Wednesday night to make the drive. At 8:30 we stopped right outside of Atlanta to feed David and change his diaper. He then...SLEPT THE WHOLE WAY THERE!!! We arrived at 11! I was so happy.

We went with John and Kellie Clements and their two boys, Persson and Tilman and Michael and Claire Johnson and their little girl, Sidney. We stayed from Wednesday to Sunday and had an amazing time. During the trip we drove into town to walk the shops. The weather was amazing. We were able to watch the leaves on the trees literally change while we were there.

I was really so proud of David. He enjoyed watching the "big" kids play and he slept every morning until 7:30 or 8. On the ride back we stopped once and changed the diaper and fed him and then made it all the way home without a peep!
