It's a...

BOY!!

Yes, it's another boy and I couldn't be happier! Jack Heyward Coblentz was born July 8, 2010 at 3:43 pm. He weighed 7lbs 4oz and was 18 3/4inches.

I must say that it was the best pregnancy and delivery, but the hardest labor. We went in at 3 pm on the 7th to be induced. I was already 2cm and 75% effaced so they didn't give me the pills. They decided to wait and just start my drip at midnight. So, we sat and waited and hung out in the L&D room. They decided to give me a slow drip since they wanted to make sure I didn't deliver during the night. At 5am I started feeling some painful contractions so they decided to give me my epidural. At 8am they broke my water and then it all started. I continued to have "hot spots" where the epidural would wear off and I would feel each contraction. They "topped off" my epidural (gave me more medicine) four different times. It would last for about 30 minutes and then I would start feeling the contractions again. Finally my fabulous nurses...

****SHOUT OUT TO Melissa Best and Queenetta Wright... the two most amazing L&D nurses I have ever had (and I have had them for both of my deliveries and I don't know what I would have done without them.)***

...brought in another anesthesiologist and they took out my first epidural and had to put in another one. I was in so much pain... and it was the craziest experience I've ever had. I had to stay in a "C" position while lying down...completely still while having horrible contractions...while they put in the second epidural. Right after they finished I told Melissa I was feeling a bunch of pressure. I was 10 cm and had gotten the epidural just in time! I had gone from 6cm to 10cm without a full epidural. It was awful! God bless anyone who chooses not to have one!

Well, I pushed six times and we welcomed our second little boy! It was so amazing! All I could think about was how much fun it was going to be to watch my two boys grow up together, so close in age, playing sports, etc.

Jack is now 2 1/2 weeks old and things have been wild around our household... but fun! Jack is a wonderful baby. Since his second night home he only wakes up once in the night around 3am. That's it! He really just sleeps most of the time. He rarely cries... I know you may not believe me, but it's true. I even asked Dr. Morrison if everything was okay with him because all he does is sleep and eat. God knew I needed something calm in my life right now.

I have a bunch of pictures that are below to show you. They begin with the Fourth of July weekend before Jack was born... and my last weekend with David as our only child... and then pictures of the birth and now.

I hate to do this but I have to put this out there in case there is someone reading this that would like to help me out. I DID get my job back at Wilson Elementary. I will be teaching 4th grade again and am so happy! As a teacher in the MPS system you can only take maternity leave and get paid for the amount of sick days you have. Well, being a second year teacher I only have 5 days. I am taking a total of 39 days... so you do the math! :) I entered into the sick leave bank, which means that anyone who is in the MPS system (actually I was told that anyone, even college professors could donate too) and has any extra days that they would like to donate to me, can. All you have to do is fill out a form, enter the sick leave bank, donate the number of days to me that you would like, and then you can get back out of the bank. It's really very simple and it will be VERY much appreciated by my family and myself. Like I said... I had to throw that out there, just in case. I will repay you in any way that I can! If you'd like to, please send me a message and I will email you.

Now... on to the pictures! I won't caption them because I can't figure out a fast way to do it. I hope you enjoy! Thank you for all of your love, prayers, and support!

Just the 3 of us!

Congrats Jess. Both of your boys are so handsome. I think you will enjoy having 2 of the same sex so close together too. I love that my girls have each other to play with. It is such a blessing. Glad to finally hear all about it.

Jessica you are a beautiful mother! Glad to know that Jack is doing so well and that you are getting plenty of rest! Remember Matthew 6, the "do not worry about your life" part... go back and read it, you will be encouraged... it doesn't say it, but it means about unpaid leave too! Do not worry! Please be encouraged when I say that you MUST remember that you are doing God's work and will by being a wife and mother FIRST, then everything else. God gave you and Matthew your sons and He has every meal, every garment, every BAND AID they will ever need already supplied by HIS RICHES so do worry about these things... trust. Looking forward to seeing how all of this will work out...and I know it will :)

Jess, how precous is Jack. I love the name, and he is gorgeous, as are all of the babies in your family! I don't know if you have talked to Judy yet, but I am definitely going to talk to her about possibly donating you a day or two. She's not internet savvy, so I doubt she is aware of the need. I only wish I was in the MPS, I'm famous for never being *out* of work - I'd give you a generous amount ;) Congratulations on all the new excitement and I wish you luck with the new baby and finding some days! Love, Aut
