Finallly...it's summer!

Today is Memorial Day and it's the third day in a row that it has been cloudy/rainy at the lake. I was hoping to get this big body a tan, but so far it hasn't gone my way. So, here I sit, updating my blog, inside the lake house... actually some much needed "me" time.

I just realized in the last couple of days how much I have missed my life. The last ten months have been crazy... a huge adjustment. Good at times, but I like this much better! :) As most of you know, I taught 4th grade this year. I loved it... I had a wonderful class, but it was exhausting! In February I was pink slipped from my job... with hopes of being rehired before the end of the year. Well, last Thursday was the "end of the year" and still no mention of being hired back. It's been a true test of faith and has brought me closer to God and my family. I know that HE will work things out and place me where I need to be.

I am now 33 weeks and 4 days pregnant. This pregnancy has been wonderful! After my first pregnancy, I would have never thought I would have been able to teach and be pregnant. I made it! I will say that teaching (or standing all day) was a little difficult on me. I developed an inguinal hernia and a few other issues... lots of swelling, etc. I won't go in to all the details. As for my hernia, which neither my OB or my surgeon have seen one in the groin in a pregnant woman, they are keeping an eye on it. We are trying to hold off on having surgery until after I have the baby. Fun... fun. So, I will recover from having a baby and then go back under the knife... or hopefully I can have it lapriscopically. It's pretty painful, but the hardest thing of all has been not being able to lift my sweet little David.

We did not find out what we were having... again. It is so much fun! I have not had a particular feeling on what this baby will be. The guesses have been about half and half... so who knows. I am due July 15, but I really think I will have this baby sooner than that. I know, most people say that, hoping, but I guess we will have to wait and see.

In the meantime I realized that I needed to start planning David's 2nd birthday party. I mentioned it to Matthew last week and informed me that it was only 3 weeks away...so mama better start planning. I can't believe my baby (for now) is almost two! His birthday is June 16... life is flying by fast! Look how much he's changed... or hasn't! :)

We actually moved David to a "big boy" room about 3 weeks ago. He did wonderful! It wasn't as bad of a transition as I had thought it would be. He LOVED his crib and never tried to crawl out... so I thought it would be a huge adjustment. We painted the room and got the beds in. David and I were home one day on a Saturday and I decided to put him down for a nap in the beds. He went right to sleep and slept for 3 hours! After that we never went back to the crib. The 2nd and 3rd night he fell off the end of the bed, but it didn't bother him. He went right back to sleep. He loves his new room and mama is so happy!

The next task is to get potty-trained and get rid of the "bobo" (which is the paci). He is down to only getting it when he sleeps, but he's been like that for about six months now. I would love any advice on both of the above. He did actually go both poopy and pee in the potty ONCE... don't worry, I DID take a picture.

I am excited about being able to check up on all my friends again... however, I am sure that as soon as I get used to "me" time, this next little bundle of joy will come along! :)

Updates

I apologize for the DELAYED posts. As usual, with all of my "updated" posts, I will let you know what's happened in our lives since my last post. I will let you know through pictures and video... so not to bore you! :) First things first... Yes, David is going to have a little brother or little sister. I am due July 15, so I am now 22 weeks. This pregnancy has been totally different. I had some nausea, but it wasn't too bad. I had horrible headaches at first, but I have now been almost two weeks without one. I feel much better than I did with David... considering, by this time, I had already been in the hospital twice! :) We had our ultrasound last week, and like before, we are not finding out what the sex is. However, one of the tech's we had wasn't being too careful or concerned that we didn't want to know what we were having and I am not too sure I don't see a little something in the picture above. Anyone who's used to seeing one notice anything??!! January was a HUGE month for our family: After the first of the year, Matthew started his own company...Coblentz Commercial Properties. David and I are very proud of all he has done for our family! David got his first "real" haircut and he did so good! On January 7, 2010 Adeline Lynn Jones was born! She weighed 7lbs. and 13oz. and was 20 inches long. She is precious! I had the wonderful honor of being in the delivery room when she was born. It was truly the most amazing experience I have ever had besides the birth of David. Here are few pictures of the sweet baby girl! It also snowed in January and we were able to get a few pictures of David... it was a little slushy, so he didn't love it. The Crumptons came to visit for a few days and David got to hang out with his friends Harris and Miller. There were his first guests at "David's dinner table."

I think I have pretty much covered it for now... I am still loving my job, however, on Tuesday I found out that I was "pink slipped" for the 2010-2011 year. Lovely! I ask for your prayers that I get re-hired! :)

I know it's a little late, but...

Yes, Halloween has come and gone, but I didn't have the time to put the precious pictures of David. He was pretty cute. We have had a pretty eventful couple of months. I won't go into too much detail yet. If you know us pretty well, you are already in the "know." For now I'll just keep this post full of sweet David and get my posts ready for Christmas!! Have I mentioned that I LOVE Christmas???? Seriously....I am already listening to Christmas music. I could go on forever... so I will stop here.

About a month ago a neighbor called and told us that a duck was driving my car... interesting, I thought. I went outside and here's what I saw...

Looked like a duck to me...but I found the culprit.

We started putting David's costume on three weeks before Halloween. We attempted every night. I wanted him to get used to it so that he would wear it for Halloween. I will say there was NEVER a night that he liked it or wore it for longer than 10 mintues. When it came time for Halloween night... let me say, our little boy put his costume on at 4:30 p.m. and didn't take it off until 11:00 p.m. I am not kidding. I was so proud of him! He even wore the feet until we took them off because they were soaking wet! Here are some pictures of the eventful night.

I told David it was time to put away the Halloween decorations, so he decided to give them kisses goodbye.

Also in the last month I went to a Sip n See for one of my best friends, Whitney and her beautiful daughter, Lucy. Here is the adorable couple.... (that would be David and Lucy!)

David also had his first trip to the farm with daddy. A mom could get used to this! :) Not to mention it made for some pretty cute pictures.

Yes, we are still here! :)

I am so, so sorry for those of you who keep up with our family on here...We have been MIA. Yes, my job has taken over my life. Thankfully, I am loving it, but it is definitely a 7-6 job. I get to work at 7 and get home between 6 and 6:30. I keep hearing that it will slow down and I am looking forward to that day. Matthew and I finally have a GREAT appreciation for teachers. I am thankful to have a husband who is what he calls "a single parent!"

I won't bore you with too much talk, but here is a quick run down of what has happened since I last blogged:
- I prepared for the first day of school
- I arrived for the first day of school and blacked out, basically in my principal's arms, in front of my class
- I was in the hospital for a week
- I decided to return to school for the second week... made it two whole hours and blacked out while talking to my principal, in front of my class, again!
- Had a million tests run over a period of two weeks, two ambulance rides to the hospital, discovered I have PVC's (which we knew), started a medicine, ended a medicine, and NOW am finally OFF medicine and back at school. I have been standing for seven weeks now! :)
- David started school again... we love it much more this year. He brings home his school projects and we have a "David's School Projects" wall. (I will upload a pic later)
- I have 30, yes 30 fourth graders in my class... and love them all!
- I have made some wonderful friendships at my job
- David is growing up before my eyes!
- My sister's belly is growing, growing, growing! She is due Jan. 11 and will be in her new house by the end of this month!
- MEREDITH'S PREGNANT!! :) She is due in April!

My two boys!

In his room... somehow he got up in his chair by himself. Scary!
