Three men and a Lady!

Yes... well, I am now a mother of two boys and a wife to one man. Whatever I do or say Matthew makes reference to the fact that I will be left home alone while he is gone to the farm with the boys. What I think when he says that...pedicures, massages, shopping with the money I will save not having girls, SLEEP, playing tennis, movies, playing with Alex and my "daughter" Adeline! God knew what he was doing when he gave me two precious boys! What I try NOT to think about is... being the dreaded "mother-in-law." Yes, that's about the only think I am not looking forward to!

As some of you know I have been on maternity leave from school and my time is winding down. I LOVE teaching and I LOVE my students and the impact I can have on them... however, I have LOVED staying home and giving my family my undivided attention.

Here is a typical day for me... It has been an amazing feeling to wake up (not being rushed), enjoy breakfast with my boys, take David to school (for the first time in two years) and kiss him goodbye, strap Jack in the BOB and go for a "Jessica's very own cardio workout" (those driving by might look two or three times!), shower, feed Jack, clean the house, make beds, do laundry, feed Jack, eat lunch, run an errand or two, water the plants, feed Jack, pick up David, fix or pick up supper, feed Jack, eat supper, watch TV with my boys, bath time, feed Jack, put Jack to bed, put David to bed, put Matthew to bed...ahhh me time... me to bed!

It's crazy, I know... yes, I am not nieve enough to think that my life is crazy when there are definitely people out there that have a life that I couldn't handle... but it's what I love!! I love it...every single second, every cry, every kiss, every fit that is pitched... I love it!

What's sad to me is that this will all end on Oct. 4.... should I mention that is also my 29th birthday! Yes, I will go back to being the mom that will wake up, feed my child, rush out the door, take care of other people's children, come home, pick up the house, fix supper, eat, put my family to bed, and then do more work before I get in bed. As much as I love teaching...it's a morning to night job. The whole "8-3" job is a lie and don't let anyone tell you differently.
I know last year, with one child, I felt so guilty because I had to "find the time" to be a mom and a wife. This year, I hope things will be different. I am trying to have a positive attitude about it all, but it is hard. If you are a prayer, please put me on your list! :)

Enough about my sob story... on to my boys!!

Jack:

He is great!! He is actually 10 weeks old today.

What Jack is doing now:
laughing
cooing
smiling (alot)
gripping fingers and his lovies
sleeping (alot)
slept through the night last night for the first time! (updated two weeks later... it was a one time thing! :()
eating alot
growing pretty fast... much faster than David ever did
wearing 3-6 month clothes
he weighed 10 lbs 10 oz at his 2 month appt. and was 21 inches
loves to ride in the stroller and go on walks
loves his swing
loves his brother

All in all... Jack is the sweetest and best baby!

David:

David is handling his brother pretty well. He is back in school and loving it. He LOVES his teachers Mrs. Lindsay and Mrs. Misty and misses, but sees his old teacher Mrs. Erica (she calls him her snookums :) ). David rides his tractor like a pro, loves going to the farm with his daddy, riding the golf cart, loves his Meggie (Meagan Griffin), loves to sing songs he learns at school (so cute), read books, spend time with his family, and say the funniest phrases.
Some of those phrases: "ahh man!" , "I can't" , "Not right now" , "I'm fine" , "That's tight" (not sure where he learned that!), and there are many more. It is just so funny to hear what might come out of his mouth next!

Well... I started writing this blog two weeks ago and am now finishing it to post. I ran into four people this past week who said "you haven't updated lately and I love reading your blog." I promised all of them one would be up soon... so here it is. I actually am starting work tomorrow!! Yes, I have mixed emotions about it... I am really sad about leaving my sweet Jack so young. I was so blessed to stay home with David until he was 6 months. Jack will be three months on the 8th. I will let you know how it goes. Oh, and tomorrow is my birthday... Happy Birthday to me! :)

Here are a few pictures to leave you with!

It's a...

BOY!!

Yes, it's another boy and I couldn't be happier! Jack Heyward Coblentz was born July 8, 2010 at 3:43 pm. He weighed 7lbs 4oz and was 18 3/4inches.

I must say that it was the best pregnancy and delivery, but the hardest labor. We went in at 3 pm on the 7th to be induced. I was already 2cm and 75% effaced so they didn't give me the pills. They decided to wait and just start my drip at midnight. So, we sat and waited and hung out in the L&D room. They decided to give me a slow drip since they wanted to make sure I didn't deliver during the night. At 5am I started feeling some painful contractions so they decided to give me my epidural. At 8am they broke my water and then it all started. I continued to have "hot spots" where the epidural would wear off and I would feel each contraction. They "topped off" my epidural (gave me more medicine) four different times. It would last for about 30 minutes and then I would start feeling the contractions again. Finally my fabulous nurses...

****SHOUT OUT TO Melissa Best and Queenetta Wright... the two most amazing L&D nurses I have ever had (and I have had them for both of my deliveries and I don't know what I would have done without them.)***

...brought in another anesthesiologist and they took out my first epidural and had to put in another one. I was in so much pain... and it was the craziest experience I've ever had. I had to stay in a "C" position while lying down...completely still while having horrible contractions...while they put in the second epidural. Right after they finished I told Melissa I was feeling a bunch of pressure. I was 10 cm and had gotten the epidural just in time! I had gone from 6cm to 10cm without a full epidural. It was awful! God bless anyone who chooses not to have one!

Well, I pushed six times and we welcomed our second little boy! It was so amazing! All I could think about was how much fun it was going to be to watch my two boys grow up together, so close in age, playing sports, etc.

Jack is now 2 1/2 weeks old and things have been wild around our household... but fun! Jack is a wonderful baby. Since his second night home he only wakes up once in the night around 3am. That's it! He really just sleeps most of the time. He rarely cries... I know you may not believe me, but it's true. I even asked Dr. Morrison if everything was okay with him because all he does is sleep and eat. God knew I needed something calm in my life right now.

I have a bunch of pictures that are below to show you. They begin with the Fourth of July weekend before Jack was born... and my last weekend with David as our only child... and then pictures of the birth and now.

I hate to do this but I have to put this out there in case there is someone reading this that would like to help me out. I DID get my job back at Wilson Elementary. I will be teaching 4th grade again and am so happy! As a teacher in the MPS system you can only take maternity leave and get paid for the amount of sick days you have. Well, being a second year teacher I only have 5 days. I am taking a total of 39 days... so you do the math! :) I entered into the sick leave bank, which means that anyone who is in the MPS system (actually I was told that anyone, even college professors could donate too) and has any extra days that they would like to donate to me, can. All you have to do is fill out a form, enter the sick leave bank, donate the number of days to me that you would like, and then you can get back out of the bank. It's really very simple and it will be VERY much appreciated by my family and myself. Like I said... I had to throw that out there, just in case. I will repay you in any way that I can! If you'd like to, please send me a message and I will email you.

Now... on to the pictures! I won't caption them because I can't figure out a fast way to do it. I hope you enjoy! Thank you for all of your love, prayers, and support!

Just the 3 of us!

Finallly...it's summer!

Today is Memorial Day and it's the third day in a row that it has been cloudy/rainy at the lake. I was hoping to get this big body a tan, but so far it hasn't gone my way. So, here I sit, updating my blog, inside the lake house... actually some much needed "me" time.

I just realized in the last couple of days how much I have missed my life. The last ten months have been crazy... a huge adjustment. Good at times, but I like this much better! :) As most of you know, I taught 4th grade this year. I loved it... I had a wonderful class, but it was exhausting! In February I was pink slipped from my job... with hopes of being rehired before the end of the year. Well, last Thursday was the "end of the year" and still no mention of being hired back. It's been a true test of faith and has brought me closer to God and my family. I know that HE will work things out and place me where I need to be.

I am now 33 weeks and 4 days pregnant. This pregnancy has been wonderful! After my first pregnancy, I would have never thought I would have been able to teach and be pregnant. I made it! I will say that teaching (or standing all day) was a little difficult on me. I developed an inguinal hernia and a few other issues... lots of swelling, etc. I won't go in to all the details. As for my hernia, which neither my OB or my surgeon have seen one in the groin in a pregnant woman, they are keeping an eye on it. We are trying to hold off on having surgery until after I have the baby. Fun... fun. So, I will recover from having a baby and then go back under the knife... or hopefully I can have it lapriscopically. It's pretty painful, but the hardest thing of all has been not being able to lift my sweet little David.

We did not find out what we were having... again. It is so much fun! I have not had a particular feeling on what this baby will be. The guesses have been about half and half... so who knows. I am due July 15, but I really think I will have this baby sooner than that. I know, most people say that, hoping, but I guess we will have to wait and see.

In the meantime I realized that I needed to start planning David's 2nd birthday party. I mentioned it to Matthew last week and informed me that it was only 3 weeks away...so mama better start planning. I can't believe my baby (for now) is almost two! His birthday is June 16... life is flying by fast! Look how much he's changed... or hasn't! :)

We actually moved David to a "big boy" room about 3 weeks ago. He did wonderful! It wasn't as bad of a transition as I had thought it would be. He LOVED his crib and never tried to crawl out... so I thought it would be a huge adjustment. We painted the room and got the beds in. David and I were home one day on a Saturday and I decided to put him down for a nap in the beds. He went right to sleep and slept for 3 hours! After that we never went back to the crib. The 2nd and 3rd night he fell off the end of the bed, but it didn't bother him. He went right back to sleep. He loves his new room and mama is so happy!

The next task is to get potty-trained and get rid of the "bobo" (which is the paci). He is down to only getting it when he sleeps, but he's been like that for about six months now. I would love any advice on both of the above. He did actually go both poopy and pee in the potty ONCE... don't worry, I DID take a picture.

I am excited about being able to check up on all my friends again... however, I am sure that as soon as I get used to "me" time, this next little bundle of joy will come along! :)

Updates

I apologize for the DELAYED posts. As usual, with all of my "updated" posts, I will let you know what's happened in our lives since my last post. I will let you know through pictures and video... so not to bore you! :) First things first... Yes, David is going to have a little brother or little sister. I am due July 15, so I am now 22 weeks. This pregnancy has been totally different. I had some nausea, but it wasn't too bad. I had horrible headaches at first, but I have now been almost two weeks without one. I feel much better than I did with David... considering, by this time, I had already been in the hospital twice! :) We had our ultrasound last week, and like before, we are not finding out what the sex is. However, one of the tech's we had wasn't being too careful or concerned that we didn't want to know what we were having and I am not too sure I don't see a little something in the picture above. Anyone who's used to seeing one notice anything??!! January was a HUGE month for our family: After the first of the year, Matthew started his own company...Coblentz Commercial Properties. David and I are very proud of all he has done for our family! David got his first "real" haircut and he did so good! On January 7, 2010 Adeline Lynn Jones was born! She weighed 7lbs. and 13oz. and was 20 inches long. She is precious! I had the wonderful honor of being in the delivery room when she was born. It was truly the most amazing experience I have ever had besides the birth of David. Here are few pictures of the sweet baby girl! It also snowed in January and we were able to get a few pictures of David... it was a little slushy, so he didn't love it. The Crumptons came to visit for a few days and David got to hang out with his friends Harris and Miller. There were his first guests at "David's dinner table."

I think I have pretty much covered it for now... I am still loving my job, however, on Tuesday I found out that I was "pink slipped" for the 2010-2011 year. Lovely! I ask for your prayers that I get re-hired! :)
